The
Bachelor of Science / Arts in Christian Education
seeks to prepare men and women for educational
ministry, primarily in the local church context.
This includes, but is not limited to,
programming in Sunday School, mid-week services,
day schools and education boards. It is a
generalist degree in design, giving the student
breadth in a variety of areas most often
associated with the local church. The degree
program seeks to provide foundational
understanding of the various age groups and
programs related to the overall life of the
congregation. It seeks to integrate theory and
practice and is considered a sub-discipline of
theology. Majors in the Christian Education
program are prepared for ministerial roles in
the local church in the following areas:
children's pastor; youth pastor; adult pastor;
singles pastor; administrator and/or teacher in
Christian schools. Each of these areas has been
filled by past graduates of the program.
